Our green promise by 2040

For us, nothing is more important than home. And no home deserves more attention and protection than our planet.
That is why we are already taking the right steps today to create a greener future – with the goal of becoming climate neutral in our showrooms, warehouses, and corporate offices by 2040.

FACILITIES

Our 200,000-square-foot furniture showroom is certified to the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standard.

TRANSPORT

100% of our trucks run on natural gas, and this year we are starting the transition to renewable natural gas (RNG).

RECYCLING

We recycle 98% of all operational waste using our own state-of-the-art recycling center.

What we are already doing

Good design for us is not limited to our furniture – it also stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design.

By using intelligent building control systems, we were able to reduce our total electricity consumption, even though we simultaneously created additional showroom space.

Where we are headed

By 2040, we plan to operate nearly all showrooms with renewable energy.
This is how we can offset our electricity consumption and take a decisive step closer to our goal of climate neutrality.

TRANSPORT

What we are already doing

We make thousands of deliveries every year – so every kilometer driven counts.

To reduce our environmental impact, we have converted our entire delivery fleet to run on natural gas.

Where we are headed

Clean air lies ahead of us.
By 2040, our delivery fleet is to be climate-neutral – with natural gas and electric trucks powered by renewable energy.

In addition, we will use Tesla Semi-Trucks to transport our goods to the individual warehouse locations.

RECYCLING

What we are already doing

It has always been our mission to make the world a better place.

That’s why we have built a state-of-the-art recycling center in our warehouse, where almost everything that passes through our doors is recycled.

This corresponds to around 2.7 million kilograms of waste that do not end up in landfills each year.

Where we are headed

On the way to 2040, we are working to raise this rate to 100 % to increase.

In addition, we are implementing comprehensive operational changes – including:

  • switching to electric devices

  • expansion of solar charging stations

  • replacement of acid batteries with environmentally friendly lithium-ion batteries

ADDITIONAL MEASURES

  • Use of LED lighting and highly efficient HVAC systems, reducing energy consumption by up to 20%

  • Use of retention basins and wells at selected locations, resulting in savings of up to 25% water
